The Cocoa Butter Club
2016 - 2018
The Cocoa Butter Club—originally started in London by Sadie Sinner—is a performance event showcasing IaoPOC (Indigenous, and/or people of colour) performers. Between 2016 and 2018, Krishna and Dani Weber co-produced and directed the Australian chapter of The Cocoa Butter Club, with an emphasis on creating an accessible and inclusive performance space. All shows had a Pay-It-Forward ticket scheme in place with discounted tickets for BIPOC audiences, AUSLAN interpreted, wheelchair accessible, and 10% of all profit was donated to WAR (Warriors of Aboriginal Resistance) as acknowledgement and gratitude for the land on which we created this work, the land of the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin nation.
