SPERM DONORS WANTED! follows Krishna Istha as he interviews hundreds of potential sperm donors live on stage in a quest to find the ultimate connection, one that will enable him and his partner to start their family.

This documentary follows Krishna, a transgender performance artist, and Logan Rea, the film's director and Krishna's partner, who want to have a baby. Due to a lack of resources for trans people wanting to biologically conceive, Krishna has created a durational theatre show. Through live, on-stage interviews with strangers, he attempts to find the “perfect” sperm donor, unraveling a compelling exploration of human connection and the unique dynamics of queer family-making. SPERM DONORS WANTED! invites audiences into intimate conversations, shedding light on the diverse narratives of modern family creation. The film was made as part of the Netflix Documentary Talent Fund - a scheme created in 2020 to break down barriers of access for emerging filmmakers. This film was commissioned as part of the Netflix Documentary Talent Fund, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Netflix documentaries.
